Born in Talne of Cherkasy region. Lived in Kyiv, later moved to Kharkiv. Worked as joiner, went abroad to earn more. Stayed at Maidan since the 1st of December 2013. In February arrived for the second time together with other residents of Kharkiv. On the 18th of February he was helping carry wounded people. During the retreat of security forces from Instytutska street Yurii was shot in the back of his head with a bullet. Survived by his elderly mother, a son and two adopted daughters. Buried in his home town.
